Radiation Dosimetry Consulting Services
We have been providing a wide range of independent consulting to health physics programs since 1988. From a two day program quality assessment or an investigation of anomalous dose results, to full dosimetry program design from equipment selection to database and dose report development.

Program assessment (NVLAP, DOELAP or other)
We have been performing program assessments since the beginning in 1988. NRC and DOE regulated programs. We use the current assessor's checklist and audit harder than the regulators, so if you fix what we find, you are all set for the real thing.
Dose investigations
One of the most time consuming tasks in a dosimetry processing operation is investigating anomalous results. We have an extensive knowledge base in abnormal dosimetry results. We can help you:
- Determine what caused them
- Provide the best estimate of the true dose
- Provide an estimate of the possible missed dose
- Provide guidance on how to minimize the event in the future
- Document the incident
Technical writing
Stanford Dosimetry has been drafting procedures, quality manuals and technical reports for dosimetry programs since 1988. We have templates for the various operation procedures that result in a very cost-effective alternative to designing from scratch within your organization.
- Quality manuals in compliance with ISO 17025
- Technical basis manual
Uncertainty Analysis
We offer partial or full uncertainty analysis for dosimetry program. Source identification and quantification through to full propagation of the total expanded uncertainty in the final dose result. Click here for more
Algorithm troubleshooting
Stanford Dosimetry has been working with external dose algorithms since 1988. Neill Stanford has been working with dose algorithms since 1984. We have worked with many dosimetry operations to determine the accuracy of their dose algorithms, without excessive test irradiations. The initial evaluation consists of coding your algorithm into our PC Algorithm Application and then running a series of tests with data that you provide (dosimeter response testing, proficiency test data, QA data). We then provide our recommendations for improving performance to meet your specific goals.
Statistical Analyses
Stanford Dosimetry is excited to announce new capabilities in statistical analysis. Heike Ringeling, with a graduate degree from Braunschweig Technical University in Germany, brings her experience in multivariate statistics to our dosimetry consulting services. Whether you are comparing the performance of two TLD readers, or comparing electronic and passive dosimeter results, we can perform the analysis for you and provide you with a professional report.
